Paldar vs Culture Amp

How Paldar differs from Culture Amp, when Culture Amp is the better choice, and why one listens to a whole workforce while the other runs development programs and measures what they changed.

Culture Amp and Paldar both use surveys, feedback and AI to help people at work get better, so on a feature list they can look alike. They answer different questions. Culture Amp is an employee experience platform for a company's own workforce: engagement surveys, performance reviews, goals and development plans, with an AI Coach for managers built into each part.

Paldar is software for the people who design and deliver development programs: coaching and leadership practices, and internal learning and development teams. A program in Paldar has a start, a cohort, practitioners, sessions and a follow up, and the result is measured movement on the capabilities that program set out to build.

So the real question is not which tool is better. It is whether you need to listen to and manage a whole workforce all year, or run programs that change how a group of people behave and prove that they did.

What Culture Amp is good at

Listening at scale. Engage offers more than 40 survey templates, pulse surveys, AI summaries of comments, benchmarks and action plans, so HR can see what drives engagement and retention across the company and act on it.

Performance in one place. Perform covers continuous feedback, performance reviews with calibration, one on one meetings, goals, shoutouts, and 180 and 360 feedback, with development plans, career paths and competencies alongside.

Help for managers. AI Coach draws on a company's engagement and review data to suggest focus areas and action plans, helps managers write reviews, and offers guided role play for hard conversations. Skills Coach, built with LifeLabs Learning, gives managers short daily exercises.

Enterprise foundations. Every plan includes SSO, HRIS integrations, Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations, a multilingual platform and GDPR and SOC 2 compliance. Culture Amp says more than 6,000 companies use it.

If you need one system to run engagement surveys and performance management for your whole company, Culture Amp is a strong choice, and Paldar is not trying to replace it.

Where the fit is harder

It measures the company, not a program. Culture Amp's surveys and reviews follow every employee through the year. A program with its own cohort, its own practitioners and its own baseline and follow up has no natural home in it.

It does not run the delivery. There is no place to lay out workshops, coaching sessions, lessons and reminders over a quarter, schedule them with facilitators and coaches, and invite a cohort to each one.

It is built for one organisation's own people. A coaching or leadership practice that runs programs for many client organisations, and quotes and reports to each of them, is outside what it is designed for.

Pricing is by quote. Plans and pricing are set by company size and agreed with Culture Amp's sales team.

What Paldar is great at

Your program, your people. You design a program as a table of interventions: workshops, coaching sessions, surveys and 360s, lessons and reminders, each linked to the capabilities it serves. Your own practitioners deliver it, and participants are invited, scheduled and measured from it.

Measurement of change. Surveys and 360s map to capabilities, so the result of a program is movement on each one from baseline to follow up, ready to show a sponsor or a client.

AI between sessions, under your control. Paldar's coach supports each participant between sessions by email, Slack, Teams or SMS, following the program you designed, and escalates to a person when a conversation needs one.

Choosing between them

Choose Culture Amp when you need engagement surveys, performance reviews and development plans for your whole workforce in one HR platform.

Choose Paldar when you design and deliver development programs, for your own organisation or for clients, and want one place to run them and prove they changed behaviour. The two can sit side by side: Culture Amp listening to the company, Paldar running the programs that respond to what it hears. Paldar is new, and we would rather you join the waitlist knowing exactly where it fits.
