Paldar vs BetterUp
How Paldar differs from BetterUp, when BetterUp is the better choice, and why one is a coaching service and the other is software for the people who run programs.

BetterUp and Paldar both care about the same outcome: people at work changing how they lead and behave, with evidence that it happened. They come at it from opposite sides. BetterUp is a coaching provider with its own platform. It supplies the coaches, the AI coach, the programs and the reporting, and an organisation buys access for its people.
Paldar is software for the people who design and deliver development programs themselves: coaching and leadership practices, and internal learning and development teams. You bring the practitioners, the program and the client relationship. Paldar holds the design, the cohort, the surveys, the AI support between sessions and the measurement in one place.
So the real question is not which tool is better. It is whether you want to buy coaching as a service, or run your own programs with your own people.

What BetterUp is good at
Scale of human coaching. BetterUp matches each leader with a coach from what it describes as a network of more than 4,000 certified coaches, and says its Ready product supports tens of thousands of employees across any geography, language or time zone. If you need coaching for a large workforce and do not have coaches of your own, that network is the product.
A full service. BetterUp configures its programs to your leadership competencies, values and language, runs the launch and adoption with you, and reports back through quarterly business reviews. Very little has to be built or run by your team.
AI coaching in the flow of work. Its AI coach, Grow, works inside Slack and Microsoft Teams, offers nudges and configurable role plays for hard conversations, and hands a person on to a human coach when they need more.
Enterprise assurance. BetterUp states SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, with GDPR and CCPA compliance, and integrations with Workday, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Salesforce.
If your organisation wants a large coaching program delivered for it, at enterprise scale, BetterUp is a strong choice, and Paldar is not trying to replace that service.
Where the fit is harder
You cannot bring your own coaches. BetterUp's coaching comes from BetterUp's network. A practice whose value is its own practitioners, or an internal team with trusted coaches and facilitators already on contract, has no place to put them.
The program is BetterUp's. You configure it to your frameworks, but the shape of the experience is set by BetterUp's products: Lead, Manage, Grow and Ready. A blended program of your own design, with a workshop, a run of coaching sessions, a 360, some lessons and a follow up measurement over a quarter, is not something you lay out yourself.
Pricing is not published. Every BetterUp page we read leads to a demo request or a conversation with sales, which suits enterprise buyers and makes it hard for a smaller organisation or a practice to know where it stands.
What Paldar is built around
Your program, your people. You design a program as a table of interventions: workshops, coaching sessions, surveys and 360s, lessons and reminders, each linked to the capabilities it serves. Your own practitioners deliver it, and participants are invited, scheduled and measured from it.
Measurement you own. Surveys and 360s map to capabilities, so the result of a program is movement on each one from baseline to follow up, and it belongs to you and your client rather than to a vendor's report.
AI between sessions, under your control. Paldar's coach supports each participant between sessions by email, Slack, Teams or SMS, following the program you designed, and escalates to a person when a conversation needs one.
The business around the work. For a practice, proposals, quotes, client organisations and margin per project sit next to the programs they come from.
Choosing between them
Choose BetterUp when you want coaching delivered for you at scale, from a large coach network, with an enterprise vendor accountable for the whole service.
Choose Paldar when you design and deliver programs yourself, with your own practitioners, and want one place to run them and prove they changed behaviour. Paldar is new, and we would rather you join the waitlist knowing exactly where it fits than expect it to be a coaching service.
